Joanna Hernandez is a passionate community leader, justice advocate, and visionary changemaker with over 25 years of experience in reentry, youth development, and criminal justice reform. She is the founder of Freedom Braiders and co-founder of Young Queens on the Rise, both rooted in healing, empowerment, and economic opportunity for justice-impacted women and girls. Born and raised in San Francisco’s Mission District, Joanna is the current Co-Chair of the Reentry Committee and an executive member of the Latino Task Force. Known for her bold leadership, lived experience, and deep-rooted community connections, she leads with heart, hustle, and an unwavering commitment to helping others be seen, supported, and free.

Roberto Hernández is a proud Chicano leader, born and raised in San Francisco’s Mission District, with a lifelong commitment to justice, culture, and community. He began his activism with the United Farm Workers, volunteering for 14 years under César Chávez and Dolores Huerta. Roberto is the Executive Director of the Real Alternatives Program (RAP), has worked with the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, and has been a driving force behind Carnaval San Francisco for 47 years. He currently serves as a Commissioner on the San Francisco Film Commission and is the Founder and President of the San Francisco Lowrider Council. Through every role, Roberto continues to uplift Latino voices, preserve culture, and fight for equity in the city he proudly calls home.

Gloria Romero is a proud bilingual Latina born and raised in the SF Bay Area, with over 30 years of dedicated service to children, youth, and families. A passionate advocate for equity and social justice, Gloria has led and contributed to transformative work across cornerstone community organizations including Mission Girls, Mission Neighborhood Centers, and now as Executive Director at Instituto Familiar de la Raza. She holds a Master’s in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s in Social Work with a focus on Women’s Health. Gloria is deeply rooted in community, committed to collective impact, and a proud mother of two.
