COVID-19 RELIEF FOR UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS IN CALIFORNIA
Beginning Monday, May 18, the State of California is providing one-time state-funded relief to undocumented immigrant workers who are ineligible for federal aid via the CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) because of their immigration status.

Filing for unemployment asssitance
If you were laid off or had your work hours reduced due to COVID-19, you can file an Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim with the California Employment Development Division (EDD). Note: EDD has temporarily suspended the requirement to certify eligibility for weeks ending March 14, 2020 to May 9, 2020 and has temporarily suspended the 7-day waiting period and the work search requirement. You can reach EDD weekdays from 8 AM until noon at 800-300-5616. EDD has also launched a new call center that is staffed 7 days a week, from 8 AM until 8 PM at 833-978-2511
